TREASON By BOND HAIR RELIGION
The TREASON collection objectively explores the power dynamic between socially elite influencers and the cancel culture movement across the globe. It is the latest iteration of aristocracy versus the masses that has been a part of every civilisation from the dawn of time. The winner can ‘have it all’ but their time at the top depends upon the opinion and loyalty of the people.
Our vision was to capture beauty, originality, privilege, fame and strength through the lens of risk. We sought to evoke a sense of isolation following a fall from grace. Each image was designed and crafted to depict the inherently fine balance between seeking fame and power, and social (dis)approval across cultures and the ages.
Themes include ambition, performance, superficiality, subterfuge, restriction, distraction, inauthenticity, ruthlessness, and, being given ‘enough rope to hang oneself’. The avant-garde hair artistry in TREASON invites the viewer to reflect on their interpretation of darkness, light, and the many shades of grey in between.
