Laura and Ria Kulik from The HairBank hair salon in Manchester were recently been named North Western Hairdresser of the Year at HJ’s British Hairdressing Awards, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional, held at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House London.
Laura and Ria beat competition from five other finalists to win the regional category, each having submitted a photographic collection demonstrating outstanding technical and creative expertise.
The mother and daughter duo triumphed in the prestigious awards, dubbed the ‘Oscars’ of the hair world, gaining top spot as the North West’s most outstanding hairdresser, in a category which welcomed entrants from five English regions: Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and West Yorkshire.
Laura and Ria were delighted with the win and said: ‘We’ve waited so long and worked so hard to win an award and last year our dream came true when we won this title for the first time. We can’t believe we’ve won again this year! It takes a lot of hard work and motivation, and we just really support each other and believe in one another. This is the pinnacle of a hairdresser’s career. A huge congratulations to all the winners.”
