Award-winning Melbourne hairdresser & owner of Vision Blonde salon, Chetan Mongia, has been nominated a Finalist in the Best International Women’s Commercial Collection category of the 2025 International Hairdressing Awards, for his stunning collection ‘BLONDE’.
The VOGUE-inspired BLONDE Collection captures the essence of transformation, elegance, and individuality. Drawing inspiration from the pages of high-fashion magazines, this collection redefines the art of blonde, exploring a spectrum of hues – from the warm glow of caramel to the striking coolness of platinum. It is a celebration of reinvention, each look an artistic expression of the wearer’s unique identity.
Just one of 18 finalists worldwide across 8 categories – and the only Australian hairdresser to be recognised as a finalist in the 7th iteration of the awards – this is Chetan’s 1st nomination in the IHAs, where he will compete for the title against finalists in his category from the UK, in Manchester (UK) in June this year.
“I am incredibly honoured to be named a finalist for Best Women’s CommericalCollection at the International Hairdressing Awards, representing Australia on a global stage. This recognition is a testament to my passion for hair and the dedication I’ve poured into this collection,” says Chetan.
“For me, hair is more than just a craft; it’s a language of self-expression, emotion, and transformation. This collection was born from a desire to blend timeless beauty with modern art, capturing strength, individuality, and the ever-evolving nature of femininity. To have this vision recognised on a global stage is an incredible privilege.”
Established in 2018 by Mikel Luzea, the International Hairdressing Awards has been created by a hairdresser for hairdressers. Receiving collections from countries/hairdressers across the globe, the finalist collections & creatives have been chosen with the help of an exceptional jury panel, consisting of five renowned industry icons: Sharon Blain, Sam Villa, Felicitas Ordas, Nicky Clarke and Ilham Mestour.
Says Chetan, “I am profoundly grateful to my mentors, my team at Vision Blonde, and Wella Professionals for their time and support, and everyone who has supported me throughout this journey from my days of apprenticeship until now. “Their belief in me has been invaluable, and this moment is as much theirs as it is mine. Being part of such an esteemed lineup of artists is inspiring, and I’m excited for what lies ahead.”
Chetan’s ‘BLONDE’ collection is a tribute to the timeless beauty of blondes, with every strand thoughtfully crafted to enhance the natural features and lifestyle of the individual. It embraces the modern woman who desires both luxury and personal expression, offering a bespoke approach to colour that feels both contemporary and classic. Each style is a visual narrative, a story of empowerment and sophistication, designed to make the wearer feel like they are part of something extraordinary—both on and off the runway.
The International Hairdressing Awards ceremony will take place on June 21st 2025 at the O2 Victoria Warehouse in Manchester (UK) with a glittering show including: thefabulous Purple Carpet – the red carpet of global hairdressing, the Catwalk Show and a Hollywood-style awards ceremony with all the glamour that the global hairdressing industry deserves!
