Closing the Menopause Gap in Skincare.

Ask any beauty therapist what their menopausal clients are experiencing on the treatment couch and you’ll hear a familiar list: skin that’s suddenly thinner, drier and less resilient than it was a few years ago.

Products that used to work stop working. For decades, the beauty industry hasn’t given clients the language – or the formulations – to explain why. That gap is finally closing, and Nimue Skin Technology’s new MenoDermo Cream (with Exosomes) is one of the more considered attempts to do so.

The biology behind it

As oestrogen declines through perimenopause, menopause and beyond, collagen production slows while collagenase, the enzyme that breaks collagen down, becomes more active – collagen synthesis can fall by around 30% within the first five years alone. Cellular communication also slackens, and cellular senescence sets in, where ageing cells stop functioning properly and accelerate ageing in surrounding tissue. The result: reduced firmness, dryness, a compromised barrier and lines that deepen faster than expected – a distinct hormonal process that generic anti-ageing formulas often fail to address.

An active formulation

Nimue frames MenoDermo Cream around reversing cellular senescence, rebuilding core skin structure and improving overall complexion. Sh-Polypeptide-69, a vegan, skin-identical collagen peptide, supports collagen I and III synthesis while helping inhibit the MMPs and collagenase that break it down. Flaxseed seed oil targets barrier repair and dryness, while niacinamide and squalane add further barrier and hydration support. The formulation’s most talked-about active, however, is its exosome technology.

Why exosomes matter here

As skin ages, cellular communication slows — cells become less active and less responsive, leading to slower repair, reduced collagen production and visible signs of ageing. Exosomes are the messengers that normally keep that communication running; they help skin cells signal to one another effectively, supporting regeneration and repair. MenoDermo Cream contains Centella Reversa, Nimue’s Phytotech plant-derived exosome ingredient sourced from Centella Asiatica, positioned to restore this cellular “conversation,” support DNA repair and telomere protection, and help ageing cells recover more youthful behaviour. It’s a genuinely different mode of action to a peptide or an oil, and it’s the ingredient likely to prompt the most client questions.

The bigger opportunity

The most useful thing about MenoDermo Cream may not be any single ingredient, but the permission it gives therapists to have the conversation at all. As more brands name menopause explicitly rather than folding it into “mature skin” ranges, therapists have a real opportunity to become trusted guides through a life stage that’s been previously poorly explained.

Clinic Closures Bring Prepaid Treatment Models Into Focus.

aglow has highlighted the importance of how aesthetic clinics and salons manage prepaid client funds, following a few recent clinic closures, with a focus on the arrangements in place for vouchers, packages and credit balances if a business closes. The company said the closures have highlighted a structural risk in parts of the beauty sector, where client money can be used to fund day-to-day operations. In those cases, clients may be left as unsecured creditors if a business closes, while operators can carry growing liabilities on their balance sheets. Two Adelaide clinics on the aglow platform, Jennifer Carly Aesthetic Medicine and Adelphè Wellness, have stepped in to support customers affected by these recent local closures, by honouring vouchers. Karl Margrain, CEO and founder of aglow, said the issue reaches beyond a single business failure. “When client money is used to fund operating cash flow, the risk can fall back on

Glovora’s New App Turns One-Time Clients Into Repeat Business.

Glovora announced the launch of its white-label patient app built for salons, aesthetic, cosmetic, spa and wellness clinics, giving clinic owners a single platform to grow loyalty, retention and predictable revenue. Most salons and clinics still grow the hard way — buying leads, sending emails that go unopened, and hoping clients rebook. Glovora replaces that with an always-on retention engine that lives on the patient’s phone. The only app brings six tools into one: memberships, rewards, automated offers, financing, push-notification deals, in-app retail and treatment sales 24/7, a simple to use client experience, all under the salon or clinic’s own name and branding. The result is fewer one-time visits and more recurring, predictable revenue, without rising ad spend. ‘Salons and Clinics are brilliant at delivering services and treatments, but growth shouldn’t depend on constantly chasing new leads. Glovora turns every visit into the start of a lasting relationship.” said Fabio

Sound Medicine.

The Ancient Wisdom Modern Wellness Is Finally Hearing. By Sam Oraya, Founder of The Day Spa. Long before sound was studied in laboratories, it was understood by the body. Across cultures and centuries, people have gathered in sacred spaces to chant, sing, pray, drum and ring bells. Sound has always been woven into ritual and healing. Our ancestors understood something essential: sound can change the way we feel. I have worked with sound, singing bowls, chimes, voice and other instruments for as long as I can remember. I have also immersed myself in spiritual sound experiences throughout the world, from sacred community and Amerta sound medicine in Bali, to Thai temples, chanting the Reiki precepts in Japan and, more recently, Mexico. Each experience has been different, yet I have repeatedly noticed the same thing: sound can reach places that words and conscious thought sometimes cannot. You do not simply hear
