TONI&GUY Global Creative Director and current British Hairdresser of the Year Cos Sakkas has been named International Hairdresser of the Year at a surprise reveal in London. Presented by International Hairdressing Awards Global Ambassador Sergi Bancells and Founder Mikel Luzea as he was working with clients, Cos won the title for the second consecutive year, with a portfolio bursting with work and images from his Vertigo Collection.
Cos said: “Wow I can’t believe it, what a great surprise, it’s absolutely made my day! Congratulations to all the finalists. I’m delighted to have won this award for the second year running. TONI&GUY is celebrating 60 years this year and I have been with them for 30 of those years. It’s an amazing brand, I get to work with incredible people, and it has a fantastic heritage. I love what I do every day.”
The winners have been revealed on a worldwide tour, where Sergi and Mikel have visited salons and hairdressers to present the six awards, as well as International Hair Influencer of the Year and International Hair Legend of the Year. Cos and the winners will now be invited to a glittering event in Palma de Mallorca on 8 May where he will walk the purple carpet as well as enjoy a catwalk presentation and dinner and pick up the Purple Lady trophy. The event is sponsored by Revlon Professional, Salon Look, The Hair MBA and Estetica Magazine.
