Dermalogica Australia’s Milestone Weekend.

The Future of Skin Health Takes Centre Stage.

Dermalogica Australia kicked off one of the industry’s biggest weekends yet with the Longevity Summit, an exclusive gathering for the brand’s elite accounts that opened up a bigger conversation about where skin health and education are headed, before the celebrations continued with a milestone 30th anniversary event.

A Conversation on the Future of Skin Health

Dermalogica hosted its top accounts at the Longevity Summit, held on August 14th at Doltone House  with sweeping harbour views and a delicious food offering to match. More than a celebration, the Summit was designed as a forward-looking conversation; bringing together voices from skincare, technology, business, and wellness to explore what longevity really means for the industry, and how Professional Skin Therapists can lead the next era of skin health.

The Summit brought together well-known industry and award-winning speakers, each offering a different lens on the future of the profession:

  • Heather Hickman – Vice President, Global Education, Dermalogica, who spoke to the longevity shift: rewriting the rules of skin health and ended the day with our Pro pen 2 Acne Protocol and a sneak peak of PRO scalp revitalisation
  • Sandy Carty – Managing Director, Phorest Australia, and Michele Brady – Partnerships Manager, Phorest Australia, addressing how technology and business tools are transforming the client experience
  • Jade Spher – Jadestart Business Coaching, on building sustainable, future-proof businesses in the skin health space
  • Neil Osborne – Clinara AI Consultation App, exploring how artificial intelligence is reshaping skin consultations and personalised treatment planning
  • Chiza Westcarr – Clinical Nutritionist and PhD in Menopause, connecting internal health and nutrition to skin longevity
  • Rosey McEvedy – Founder, IV League, on wellness and longevity from the inside out. All participants were given the option of a complimentary NAD+ injection during lunch

Together, the speaker line-up reflected a clear message: the future of skin health sits at the intersection of education, technology, wellness, and business acumen.

It was this same spirit of looking ahead that carried through into the evening’s next celebration.

An evening of celebrating 30 Years of Dermalogica in Australia.

Leading into the biggest and brightest weekend of the skincare industry in Australia, the Dermalogica Australia team celebrated 30 years in Australia with 250 people who made it possible – their most loyal Professional Skin Therapists and Accounts, and their Industry and Media Partners.

Held at the Museum of Contemporary Art overlooking Sydney Harbour, the evening opened with a special staff hour, where General Manager Kristie Millgate recognised team members for their long-standing loyalty -some celebrating 20+ years with the brand. They were also honoured to host Vice President of Global Education Heather Hickman and members of the original 1996 executive team; General Manager Suzette Cassie, Finance Manager Rhona Du Toit, Sales Manager Pam Mitchell, and New Business Consultant Jane York-who joined Kristie to cut their 30-year birthday cake.

They recognised and celebrated their most engaged and successful accounts, their Gold & Platinum Accounts with coveted recognition trophies.

The champagne flowed, canapés and gelato enjoyed while heartfelt speeches and industry-sponsored prizes including worth $30K, in trade media created unique moments.

Guests enjoyed a 360-photo booth and danced late into the night before taking home an exclusive gift bag featuring a printed card with a personal message from Founder Jane Wurwand, a brand manifesto, metallic branded skincare bag, hero product Daily Microfoliant and the newly launched Smart Eye Density Serum.

From a forward-looking conversation on the future of skin health to a heartfelt look back at 30 years of partnership, the weekend captured exactly where Dermalogica Australia stands: honouring its history while helping shape what comes next for the industry.

Clinic Closures Bring Prepaid Treatment Models Into Focus.

aglow has highlighted the importance of how aesthetic clinics and salons manage prepaid client funds, following a few recent clinic closures, with a focus on the arrangements in place for vouchers, packages and credit balances if a business closes. The company said the closures have highlighted a structural risk in parts of the beauty sector, where client money can be used to fund day-to-day operations. In those cases, clients may be left as unsecured creditors if a business closes, while operators can carry growing liabilities on their balance sheets. Two Adelaide clinics on the aglow platform, Jennifer Carly Aesthetic Medicine and Adelphè Wellness, have stepped in to support customers affected by these recent local closures, by honouring vouchers. Karl Margrain, CEO and founder of aglow, said the issue reaches beyond a single business failure. “When client money is used to fund operating cash flow, the risk can fall back on

Glovora’s New App Turns One-Time Clients Into Repeat Business.

Glovora announced the launch of its white-label patient app built for salons, aesthetic, cosmetic, spa and wellness clinics, giving clinic owners a single platform to grow loyalty, retention and predictable revenue. Most salons and clinics still grow the hard way — buying leads, sending emails that go unopened, and hoping clients rebook. Glovora replaces that with an always-on retention engine that lives on the patient’s phone. The only app brings six tools into one: memberships, rewards, automated offers, financing, push-notification deals, in-app retail and treatment sales 24/7, a simple to use client experience, all under the salon or clinic’s own name and branding. The result is fewer one-time visits and more recurring, predictable revenue, without rising ad spend. ‘Salons and Clinics are brilliant at delivering services and treatments, but growth shouldn’t depend on constantly chasing new leads. Glovora turns every visit into the start of a lasting relationship.” said Fabio

Sound Medicine.

The Ancient Wisdom Modern Wellness Is Finally Hearing. By Sam Oraya, Founder of The Day Spa. Long before sound was studied in laboratories, it was understood by the body. Across cultures and centuries, people have gathered in sacred spaces to chant, sing, pray, drum and ring bells. Sound has always been woven into ritual and healing. Our ancestors understood something essential: sound can change the way we feel. I have worked with sound, singing bowls, chimes, voice and other instruments for as long as I can remember. I have also immersed myself in spiritual sound experiences throughout the world, from sacred community and Amerta sound medicine in Bali, to Thai temples, chanting the Reiki precepts in Japan and, more recently, Mexico. Each experience has been different, yet I have repeatedly noticed the same thing: sound can reach places that words and conscious thought sometimes cannot. You do not simply hear
