Smiths Collective Brands Powers Up with Salon Owners in Bali!
Inspiring and leading their inaugural Power Up in Bali salon owners business retreat from May 18-21 2025, Smiths Collective Brands & INNOluxe UK, together with Sharlene Lee & Sophia Hilton, promised a ‘once in a lifetime’ experience with life-changing business sessions, mindful self-development and a overall reset – and they delivered!
In fact, the retreat received so much positive and intentional feedback that Power Up in Bali 2026 is already in the making!
The sold-out 2025 Power Up in Bali presented a truly up close and personal experience for all 40 like-minded guests, who hailed from Australia, NZ, the UK and Scotland, thanks to the exclusive resort environment at Tanadewa Resort and Spa, limited guest spots and meaningful sessions relevant to all in attendance.
It was an unforgettable experience with two of the international hairdressing industry’s top business gurus shedding light on how to gain clarity, boost confidence and realign personal and professional goals to elevate businesses.
“Our primary aim was to showcase Smiths Collective Brands and the incomparable INNOluxe brand, and bring together the INNOluxe Global Brand Ambassador, Sophia & the face of INNOluxe Australia, Sharlene, dynamic business owners & educators, to inspire and empower salon owners to achieve their business goals and dreams,” says Brian & Jane Smith, Co-founders of Smiths Collective Brands.
“For our first time hosting an event of this magnitude, it exceeded our expectations! We were stuck by the soul, emotion, openness, and authenticity with which Sharlene & Sophia led their sessions as this truly impacted everyone differently; we walked away feeling absolutely humbled and thrilled with the event.”
The 3-day retreat invited guests to really reconnect with their inner self, see their businesses from all angles, learn how to work smarter and increase their numbers, yet still be ‘mindful’ of their mindset – delivered with Sharlene’s signature robust, honest approach and Sophia’s softer, sense of self approach.
“As salon owners, along with being educators/technicians we have also had international experiences in the hairdressing industry spanning over 4 decades,” says Jane.
“We’ve always been in the industry in some capacity and I think this may have been a drawcard for not only our current clients, with whom we’ve strengthened relationships, but also guests coming along to see what Smiths Collective Brands is about, and how we could possibly benefit their businesses.”
With the Tanadewa Resort booked exclusively for the event, guests were able to move around with several outdoor sessions and the chance to really connect with each other at meal times, and share their own personal/professional experiences over the three days.
Unlike other traditional conferences, Sophia chose the outdoors over a conference room setting for her mindfulness sessions, setting the tone for the event. Sophia shared her story of evolving as a person alongside her business and the resilience that evolved as a result. Retreats became a key aspect in her mindfulness journey, emphasising the importance of goal setting, writing down traits and erasing limiting behaviours that hinder relationships with your business.
With the pool and the gardens as the backdrop, Sophia addressed everything from conquering your inner critic and fear of failure to overcoming imposter syndrome and mental blocks, whilst bolstering self-confidence and sharing personal experiences.
This led fluidly into the ‘business’ side of the conference, with Sharlene & her son, Declhan Lee presenting together for the first time. The dynamic pair shared the secrets to success of Circles and the systems and procedures that continue to deliver true year-on-year growth.
Key takeaways from Sharlee and Declhan’s sessions were the importance of welcoming innovation to improve business processes and enhancing current systems using modern tools. With a background in marketing, Declhan advocated enhancement, not deconstruction of current systems, to build efficient salons and workflow. Sharlene spoke about team retention and pricing, with a focus on the impact of consistent branding, team development, effective marketing and various communication platforms.
The overall goal for Sharlene & Declhan is to help more salons utilise tech tools to benefit benefit both clients and salon teams.
Guests were extremely thrilled with the opportunity to really reconnect and reset, enjoying the intimacy of the sessions and the invaluable and unlimited information/systems Sharlene and Sophia shared with the group.
There was a true sense of ‘nothing’s off limits’ as guests thrived with the thought of returning home to integrate systems and streamline their businesses, whilst remembering the importance of taking time out for themselves.
And what’s ahead for Power Up in Bali 2026?
“We’ll look to extend the treat to a full 3-day event, increase the guest spots just slightly – so still keeping it very intimate – and include additional guest speakers so the workload can be shared and the offerings will be broader yet still invaluable to businesses,” says Brian.
“We plan to hold the event in the later half of May 2026 – watch this space!”
