Back Stage with Dee Parker

If you wanted a truely UNIQUE RUNWAY SHOW, You came to the right place

Renowned duo Anna Plunkett and Luke Sales met while studying fashion in 2005, and have been shaking the Australian fashion industry ever since with Romance Was Born.

With their unique process, they regularly collaborate with other like-minded artists such as Linda Jackson, Jenny Kee, Del Kathryn Barton, Disney, Marvel, Lego and the Sydney Theatre Company.

This year was no different, Artist Paul Yore created the immersive and invoking runway centre stage entitled ‘WORD MADE FLESH‘ described as an “imagined queer alternative reality, erected from the wasteland of the Anthropocene, performatively implicating itself into the debased spectacle of hyper-capitalist society.” (Carriageworks.com.au)

Schwarzkopf’s Pro Artist and 2x AHIAs Australian Hairdresser of the YearDee Parker Attwood has been part of this icon journey as the Hair Director for these runway shows for the past 3 years. She encapsulates the ideal culture for collaboration by her experimental creativity, mixed with incredible craftsmanship. Not to mention her ability to know when to make a statement and when to simply let the hair sit back and complement the look “it’s never really about the hair, it’s about the clothes” Dee comments.

See her only Exclusive interview from the night with our very own Jarred Stedman as she takes us through the inspiration, why she curated the looks specifically for each model, and her very own pro tip for slick back hair.
