SCHWARZKOPF PRO BRISBANE FASHION FESTIVAL

Dee Parker Attwood makes Celebrities, Models and 11 Olympians shine on the runway

Written and photographed by Jarred Stedman for MochaGroup

Mercedes Benz Brisbane Fashion Festival has come around once again as its 18th year running. The fashion runway shows go for a week, this year from the 25th to the 30th  of August and held in the iconic see-through marquee on King George Square.

It features the latest spring-summer season collections available in stores by some of the very best local fashion designers, including leading industry names, homegrown favourites, and the brightest next-gen talent.

Schwarzkopf Professional was once again the official hair sponsor for this trend-setting event. With hair teams flying in from all over including, Monique from Perth, Jordan and Jo from New Zealand, Krystle and the Tokunai team from Cairns, Glenn from Tasmania and locals like Halo Room team from just up the road. They all get their hands on live models, fashion styles and a six-day ‘money can’t buy’ masterclass with the leading hair runway queen and 3x Australian Hairdresser of the year, Dee Parker Attwood.

Under the creative direction of Dee, Hair Director and Schwarzkopf National Ambassador, the hair team of over 23, got to learn how she creates her ideas, how she executes them and how she makes things work under pressure.

Tuesday night was a particularly special show, hence why MochaGroup’s General Manager Jarred Stedman was exclusively there, as it was the ‘W Brisbane Fashion Show’ which included:

Celebrity host Sarah Harris from Network 10, The Project.

Presenter and comedian Julia Morris walking the runway for Kristina Williams – the Brand,

Over 10 councilmen and women in the audience

11 swimming Olympians walking for Driza-bone

All of whom had their hair done backstage under the eyes of Dee Parker Attwood and Schwarzkopf Professional Education Manager Gina Thomas.

Dee Parker Attwood found a winning formula, “We create a production line that allows everyone to get their hands on the hair – this way, everyone is assigned a task before the show starts, so the models can move from station to station allowing all the hair team to excel at a particular stage for that show,” she said.

This is particularly important especially when there are 46 models, celebrities, Olympians and VIP guests all wanting to look their very best.

Amazing Hair as always, was there to support Dee Parker Attwood’s vision with plenty of Hair Extensions for those who need a bit more thickness or length for the runway. Which is especially important for when the models do their big spin at the end of the runway in front of all the cameras – seeing long lushes health hair can make or break the photos that lands on the front covers of the newspaper the next morning.

MochaGroup is always so honoured to be apart of capturing and celebrating this moment in time for Brisbane’s Fashion Scene, Schwarzkopf Professional Hair team, and Dee Parker Attwood’s runway fashion focused journey.
