Short Back & Sidewalks (SBSW) is partnering with premium hairdressing salon brand TONI&GUY Australia to once again offer haircuts in Sydney to people in need.
Starting this week, TONI&GUY Australia’s nationally renowned hairdressers from across their network of Sydney salons will volunteer to deliver new monthly SBSW services at the Central Community Hub at St Andrew’s Cathedral.
SBSW CEO Natalie Jenkins said the charity was delighted to return to Sydney.
“It’s really special to get to work alongside such an iconic hairdressing brand and crew like the TONI&GUY Australia team to deliver services to the people who need it most,” Ms Jenkins said.
“The people who use our services deserve the very best, and this partnership ensures they will continue to receive it from some of Sydney’s best hairdressers.”
TONI&GUY Australia CEO Sara Langford said “It’s our personal, professional and social responsibility to partner with meaningful and like minded organisations like Short Back & Sidewalks”.
“Our Salons are excited for the opportunity to utilise their skillset and give back to the local community”.
The new Central Community Hub TONI&GUY Australia service will complement SBSW’s second presence in Sydney at Foster House in Surry Hills, a residential facility for men aged 18 and over who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
About Short Back & Sidewalks
Short Back & Sidewalks (SBSW) is a free hair-cutting and grooming service for members of the community who are experiencing homelessness and poverty. Short Back & Sidewalks began in 2015 and operates in Western Australia, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.
Their service goes beyond just giving free haircuts; they create meaningful connections through conversations with clients, and create visibility for some of the most marginalised community members in Australia.
