ghd have changed the game and so to find out more we spoke exclusively to Hayley Pullen, ghd Education Manager for Australia and New Zealand about this absolute GAME CHANGER!
Hayley, What do you love most about ghd duet style?
There are so many things to love about duet style, but mostly the fact that it smooths the hair whilst respecting the hairs health. On drying mode, duet style does not damage the hair (*up to 4 passes), maintaining the hairs internal moisture which is key to the protection to the hair during the styling process. Consumers will be able to re-create that salon smooth blow-dry at home without having to navigate their way around a round brush. Then of course, the versatility of the tool is incredible, you can create glass-straight hair looks, 90’s-style soft bends, loose beachy waves – the possibilities are endless.
How easy is it to use?
For the salon professional, it will feel intuitive to use the tool. Best of all, it’s super simple for consumers to use. For best practice usage, we have a list of recommended directions:
- Ensure your hair is towel-dried before use.
- Slide the power button upwards to turn ON your duet style. After a few seconds you will hear the fan ramp up as it heats up to the optimal low styling temperature for wet hair. Once the light stops flashing and the product beeps, it is ready to use.
- Divide your hair. Take the first section holding the hair directly out from the scalp and place the product close to the roots holding for 3 seconds.
- Glide down the hair towards the ends in a slow and steady pace. Repeat until dry and move onto the next section of hair, starting once again from the roots.
- Once the hair is completely dry, for an optional boost of shine, activate Shine Shot™ by pressing down the Shine Shot™ button for 3 seconds until you hear a beep. The fan will stop and the plate temperature will increase to the optimal ghd styling temperature of 185°C. Once the product beeps and the lights stop flashing, Shine Shot™ is ready.
Does it really cut the time of styling down and how?
ghd duet style is much more efficient at drying hair than a conventional hair dryer. Conventional hair dryers are less controlled, so when drying the hair, they also heat the user and the surrounding room. With duet style you are targeting specific sections of the hair at any one time, therefore reducing overall styling time. We don’t recommend a fixed time saving for ghd duet style as consumer hair type and usage style can heavily impact this result.
How does it work with curly hair?
Tested on a wide variety of hair including straight, textured, wavy, curly, thick, and fine, duet style is guaranteed to work on all hair types. For best results on textured hair, dry and style the hair in smaller sections leading the styler with a comb or ghd oval dressing brush. Keeping tension on the hair when drying and styling curly or textured hair is key.
