2026 ABIA WINNERS ANNOUNCED AT GALA CEREMONY.

Sunday 16th August saw Australia and New Zealand’s most outstanding beauty professionals celebrated with winners of the 15th annual 2026 ANZ Beauty Industry Awards (ABIAs) announced at a spectacular gala evening at the ICC Sydney.

Notable winners on the night included Luminary Melbourne named ABIA Australian Spa/Salon/Clinic Of The Year 2026 (4 rooms or Less), Macquarie Medi Spa named ABIA Australian Spa/Salon/Clinic Of The Year 2026 (5 rooms or more) and Eliza McArlein of E’Aesthetics Skin named ABIA Dermal Therapist of the Year 2026. Rachael Stevens was also recognised for giving back so generously outside the industry with the ABIA Humanitarian of the Year 2026 award, and industry icons Jeffrey and Sandi Daley were inducted together into the Hall of Fame.

Established in 2011 by industry leader Mocha Group, the ABIAs are proud to have built a reputation as the beauty and aesthetic industry’s premier awards program, setting the benchmark for excellence across specialist and individual categories.

Winners were announced at the prestigious 2026 ABIA Gala, with the ICC ballroom providing the perfect backdrop for an evening of red-carpet glamour, world-class entertainment and celebration of industry excellence. Under the guidance of the irrepressible Adam Williams the evening opened with a fresh and stylish spin on the Rat Pack, with Les Femmes trio taking on iconic songs made famous by men, and reimagining them through three powerhouse female voices. Emma Mylott, Jacinta Gulisano and Kirrah Amosa were joined by live saxophone and percussion, delivering bold new arrangements on some of the greatest tracks of all time.

All guests enjoyed a Red Carpet Pre-Drink Reception before the awards, complete with Photo Booth and Glam Bot, followed by an exclusive onsite After Party welcoming back to the stage Les Femmes trio for guests to dance and continue the celebrations, proudly sponsored by Lira Clinical and Saint Minerals.

This year’s entries were independently assessed by a distinguished judging panel comprising respected industry leaders, educators and business experts. Their collective expertise, commercial insight and commitment to recognising excellence ensured the highest standards throughout the judging process and reinforced the ABIAs as the industry’s most respected awards program. One of their most important tasks was selecting the 2026 Beauty Squad, the esteemed industry program championing emerging talent, sponsored by Elleebana, Gay Wardle Skin Institute, Inskincosmedics, Dermapenworld and Candela.

Spanning 33 award categories the ABIAs attracted over 350 entries. This was a record-breaking result that reflected the continued growth and strength of the industry, as well as the expanding influence of the awards throughout Australia and New Zealand. A significant milestone for 2026 was the introduction of dedicated entries for the two prestigious categories of Australian Beauty Salon/Spa/Clinic of the Year, with these coveted national titles entered directly rather than being determined from state category winners.

Linda Woodhead, CEO and founder of the ABIAs and Mocha Group, celebrated the winners:

“Tonight was everything this industry deserves, a room full of talent, passion and genuine celebration of what the beauty profession does best. To see everyone together for a night like this, with New Zealand proudly part of the ABIA family now, is a reminder of just how far we have come. Congratulations to every winner, you represent the very best of our industry, and we can’t wait to see what you achieve next.”

Clinic Closures Bring Prepaid Treatment Models Into Focus.

aglow has highlighted the importance of how aesthetic clinics and salons manage prepaid client funds, following a few recent clinic closures, with a focus on the arrangements in place for vouchers, packages and credit balances if a business closes. The company said the closures have highlighted a structural risk in parts of the beauty sector, where client money can be used to fund day-to-day operations. In those cases, clients may be left as unsecured creditors if a business closes, while operators can carry growing liabilities on their balance sheets. Two Adelaide clinics on the aglow platform, Jennifer Carly Aesthetic Medicine and Adelphè Wellness, have stepped in to support customers affected by these recent local closures, by honouring vouchers. Karl Margrain, CEO and founder of aglow, said the issue reaches beyond a single business failure. “When client money is used to fund operating cash flow, the risk can fall back on

LACEVO Launches World’s First Breast Light Therapy Device.

We all know the beauty benefits of red and near-infrared light therapy for the face, from supporting collagen production and skin health to reducing the appearance of fine lines and promoting a more radiant complexion. But what about using it on the breasts? The concept isn’t new. Mothers have been using LED face masks on their breasts as a DIY beauty and wellness hack, looking to support everything from postpartum recovery and skin health to breast discomfort. LACEVO saw the gap and developed EMPOWER, the world’s first customisable wearable red and near-infrared light therapy breast care set, designed specifically for the breasts. The discreet, hands-free wearable features 96 high-performance LEDs and customisable light therapy pads designed to fit different breast shapes and sizes. Worn inside a bra, it delivers targeted light therapy in just 10–20 minutes. Scientifically backed, non-invasive, drug-free and TGA-approved, the device supports women through breastfeeding, postpartum recovery

Glovora’s New App Turns One-Time Clients Into Repeat Business.

Glovora announced the launch of its white-label patient app built for salons, aesthetic, cosmetic, spa and wellness clinics, giving clinic owners a single platform to grow loyalty, retention and predictable revenue. Most salons and clinics still grow the hard way — buying leads, sending emails that go unopened, and hoping clients rebook. Glovora replaces that with an always-on retention engine that lives on the patient’s phone. The only app brings six tools into one: memberships, rewards, automated offers, financing, push-notification deals, in-app retail and treatment sales 24/7, a simple to use client experience, all under the salon or clinic’s own name and branding. The result is fewer one-time visits and more recurring, predictable revenue, without rising ad spend. ‘Salons and Clinics are brilliant at delivering services and treatments, but growth shouldn’t depend on constantly chasing new leads. Glovora turns every visit into the start of a lasting relationship.” said Fabio

Sound Medicine.

The Ancient Wisdom Modern Wellness Is Finally Hearing. By Sam Oraya, Founder of The Day Spa. Long before sound was studied in laboratories, it was understood by the body. Across cultures and centuries, people have gathered in sacred spaces to chant, sing, pray, drum and ring bells. Sound has always been woven into ritual and healing. Our ancestors understood something essential: sound can change the way we feel. I have worked with sound, singing bowls, chimes, voice and other instruments for as long as I can remember. I have also immersed myself in spiritual sound experiences throughout the world, from sacred community and Amerta sound medicine in Bali, to Thai temples, chanting the Reiki precepts in Japan and, more recently, Mexico. Each experience has been different, yet I have repeatedly noticed the same thing: sound can reach places that words and conscious thought sometimes cannot. You do not simply hear
