As the aesthetics industry continues shifting toward skin health, longevity, and regenerative treatment approaches, there is growing interest in technologies designed to support the skin rather than overstress it. But when Charles and Paula Krivaci first discovered ProCell Therapies in 2021, the concept was still relatively unfamiliar within the Australian market.
At the time, they were operating their own clinic and searching for a treatment that would not only deliver visible results, but also offer something genuinely different from the traditional microneedling systems already dominating the industry.
“We originally discovered ProCell as a clinic looking to expand our treatment range,” Charles explains. “What immediately stood out was the way ProCell penetrated the skin by stamping vertically to create clean uniform micro-channels instead of dragging or gliding across the skin like traditional microneedling. This approach supports precision, reduced downtime, and treatment consistency.”
For Charles and Paula, however, it was the client response that truly confirmed they had found something unique.
“We were blown away by the results and the consistent unprompted feedback we received,” Charles says. “Our referral business also grew exponentially because people kept asking our clients what they had done to their skin.”
The consistent treatment results and growing client demand ultimately led Charles and Paula to approach the company in the United States about becoming the exclusive Australian distributors for the brand. Australia became the first country outside North America to launch ProCell Therapies, with the system now available in more than 50 countries worldwide.
“We had no industry contacts or brand awareness, so it has definitely been a labour of love since 2022 to establish ProCell within the Australian market,” Charles says. “Ultimately, it’s the combination of science and proven results that is driving more clinics to offer the treatment instead of hype.”
Often referred to as “Microneedling Evolved,” ProCell combines advanced microchanneling technology with bioengineered growth factor serums with DNA repair technology designed to support the skin’s natural regenerative processes while improving skin tone, texture, elasticity and overall integrity.
“It is a minimally invasive treatment without the downtime usually associated with advanced skin treatments,” Charles explains.
Using an award winning TGA-registered device fitted with fine surgical-grade tips, the treatment targets the dermal-epidermal junction to create controlled microchannels within the skin through a vertical stamping technique designed to avoid scratching or tearing the skin whilst maximising topical absorption of ProCell’s bioengineered stem cell derived serums.
Post-treatment results are supported through ProCell’s two-step Serum and Accelerator system, designed to help the skin repair, regenerate and defend itself against the ageing process whilst optimising results from professional treatments.
According to Charles and Paula, one of the reasons ProCell continues gaining momentum globally is its versatility across multiple skin concerns and Fitzpatrick types. The treatment can be safely used to target fine lines and wrinkles, acne and surgical scars, pigmentation including melasma, rosacea, enlarged pores, stretch marks, laxity, sun damage and even hair thinning concerns.
“We also have a specific formulation for hair loss that is designed to activate the Wnt beta-catenin signaling pathway and support follicular regeneration particularly for pattern baldness and stress related conditions,” Charles adds.
For both clinics and clients, reduced downtime has become one of the treatment’s strongest advantages.
“Clients can return to normal activities much sooner and there is significantly less risk of post-treatment concerns such as pigment changes and scarring,” Charles explains. “For clinics, it also means clients are more likely to return for ongoing treatments or commit to a treatment series.”
Charles also believes there is increasing recognition within the industry that excessive inflammation and extended downtime may not align with evolving client expectations around modern skin rejuvenation.
“There are more studies and clinical results showing that a less-is-best approach not only reduces downtime, but also translates into greater compliance and better long-term outcomes,” he says.
As clinics continue looking for treatments that deliver strong client outcomes while supporting business growth, ProCell has also positioned itself as an attractive business opportunity.
“Start-up packages begin from around $3500 including our entry level PRO device, so it’s very affordable for the level of results generated,” Charles says. “Some practitioners are performing up to 20 treatments per week at approximately $400 per treatment, with strong repeat and referral business based on proven results.”
He also believes ProCell offers clinics a genuine point of difference within an increasingly saturated market.
“Traditional microneedling has become highly commoditised,” Charles says. “ProCell still has relatively limited market coverage, allowing clinics to offer something different.”
Education and clinic support have also become a major focus for the Australian ProCell team.
“Our preference is to provide all clinics with face-to-face training at their own clinic, and this is included within our start-up packages. The system is also only available to clinics,” Charles says.
Clinics also gain access to webinars, treatment protocols, training manuals, treatment videos, social media resources, client documents and ongoing support.
The focus of the brand remains on innovation, treatment outcomes, and helping clinics build long-term client confidence through consistent results and restorative treatment approaches
“We feel more regenerative, restorative and natural approaches to skin rejuvenation are where the industry is heading.”
