The event marked another milestone year for this prestigious awards platform, continuing Mocha Group’s legacy as a leading force in media, awards and events across the hair, beauty and barber industries.

Filled with both established names and the next generation of talent, the AHIA Gala was a true showcase of the industry’s depth and creativity. Held across an unforgettable evening, incorporating Pre-Drink Arrivals hosted by CPR HAIR, the Awards Night and an onsite After Party with an extended five-hour drinks package, the AHIA Creative Gala delivered a night of world-class production.

Featuring AHIA Creative Australian Hairdresser of the Year 2025, Bernadette Beswick, powered by ELEVEN Australia Colour: black became the canvas, colour became the statement, as vibrant tones cut through dramatic outerwear and sheer layers in a runway that felt cinematic and it-girl after dark.

Direct from Paris, Jean-Baptiste Santens presented Neo Couture Live, a theatrical fusion of avant-garde hair, fashion and fantasy, transforming the model into a living work of art through futuristic forms and sculptural, couture-inspired craftsmanship.

Natalie Anne x BKTclosed the night with The Ballerina Hustle, exploring the tension between effort and elegance and celebrating the discipline, resilience and obsession behind the artistry of those who perfect the craft of transformation.

And if that wasn’t enough, guests were also treated to the trademark AHIA AFTER-PARTY  with guest DJ.

Linda Woodhead, Founder of Mocha Group, shared her pride in how far the awards have come: “This industry never stops pushing boundaries, and this year proved it more than ever. A 30% jump in entries and our biggest stage yet at the ICC Sydney Ballroom, it’s a reflection of just how much talent exists across Australia and New Zealand. Congratulations to all of our incredible winners!”

The Evolution of Sustainability in Salons

In 2026, being sustainable in business is expected rather than an afterthought but making it relatable and aspirational for your clients doesn’t have to be a big deal. According to Susannah Richardson, co-founder of salon group, Butchers, your sustainability should be visible the minute clients step through your doors “Your clients don’t want to be lectured on how sustainable you are; they should just see and feel the benefits on every visit to the salon,” she says. The Beauty Industry’s Comfort Problem.

Why playing it safe is holding clinics back! By Carly Knowles – Current ABIA Winner Best Team Training. The beauty and aesthetics industry is one of the most dynamic and fast evolving sectors we operate in, yet ironically, it is also one of the most risk averse. While technology, education, and client expectations continue to advance, many clinics remain firmly anchored in what feels familiar, comfortable, and safe. And that comfort, while understandable, is quietly holding the industry back. Comfort looks like stability, until it isn’t!! For many clinic owners, “playing it safe” means sticking with the same treatments, the same protocols, and the same messaging that worked five, ten or even more years ago. It means avoiding uncomfortable conversations with clients, steering clear of change, and hesitating to invest in education or leadership development. At first glance, this approach can look like stability. But over time, it often leads to

ProCell Therapies ANZ on Skin Regeneration

As the aesthetics industry continues shifting toward skin health, longevity, and regenerative treatment approaches, there is growing interest in technologies designed to support the skin rather than overstress it. But when Charles and Paula Krivaci first discovered ProCell Therapies in 2021, the concept was still relatively unfamiliar within the Australian market. At the time, they were operating their own clinic and searching for a treatment that would not only deliver visible results, but also offer something genuinely different from the traditional microneedling systems already dominating the industry. “We originally discovered ProCell as a clinic looking to expand our treatment range,” Charles explains. “What immediately stood out was the way ProCell penetrated the skin by stamping vertically to create clean uniform micro-channels instead of dragging or gliding across the skin like traditional microneedling. This approach supports precision, reduced downtime, and treatment consistency.” For Charles and Paula, however, it was the client
